When you begin running meetings using Lucid Meetings, you'll start to collect important business data in your meeting records. There are several scenarios where you may need to get that data from Lucid for use elsewhere.

To make this easy, Lucid includes many export features and a full REST API.

Let's look at five times when customers export their data, and explore the features that they use to get that data.

Scenario 1: Sharing Records from a Meeting

When you want to share meeting information with someone who can't or won't log in to the online meeting, you can export the meeting record. You'll find buttons to export the meeting record on the meeting home page. This export is available in multiple formats, including a complete Zip file containing both the meeting records and copies of all documents reviewed in that meeting.

Scenario 2: Updating a Team's Action Items

Over time, team's using Lucid Meetings can record a lot of action items. Some teams do a great job of keeping these up-to-date and others... don't.

Action items are one of several kinds of records that you can export to a spreadsheet. For those teams who've got a bit of a legacy mess in their database, this makes it easy to download all the action items, update them in the spreadsheet, then upload these changes in bulk.

You'll also find features for exporting people and tagged notes from each meeting room.

Scenario 3: Keeping Copies In Other Systems

Sometimes you want to save a copy of your Lucid Meeting records somewhere else. Maybe you want those records to automatically appear in your project management system. Maybe you want a PDF copy of every meeting automatically saved to a hard drive for safe keeping. Maybe your boss believes the only real records are those that come in Microsoft Word, and refuses to look online.

Whatever the case may be, you know you want to get a copy of every meeting result stored somewhere outside of Lucid automatically.

We have several pre-built integrations that do just that. If you use Basecamp or Atlassian's Confluence, you can enable those integrations to get a "Publish" button that will copy meeting records directly to those systems. For many other systems, you can set up a Zapier Zap that "listens" for changes to your Lucid Meetings and creates records in other systems. This lets you automatically send Word exports of your meetings to Dropbox, Microsoft Word Online, Box, and other systems.

Read more about these and other integrations here.

And, if you have access to developer skills, you can use our API to build an integration that works for your special internal systems too.

Scenario 4: Uh oh! Subpoena

What we say and do in meetings matters. That's where the business decisions get made and the deals go down, and the courts know this. Sometimes, a customer involved in a lawsuit will be asked to "produce" all of the records from their meetings related to subject of the law suit.

While it's possible to manually export each meeting record individually, that can be time consuming and error prone. Instead, this is a good time to work with a developer who use our REST API to extract the data programmatically.

Read more about our API here. There is an example script for getting a full archive of meetings here.

Scenario 5: Cancelling Your Lucid Subscription

While we're always sad to see a client go, we know that all relationships evolve and sometimes that's the best answer for everyone. If that time should come, you can work with a developer of your choice (or call us to help) to use our "Archive Everything" script.

This script automatically exports all your meeting records into a tidy folder structure you can pack up and take wherever your journey calls you.
